Toddlers Halloween Alternative Treats

With Halloween a few weeks away, I’ve been thinking about Toddlers Halloween Alternative Treats to put in my granddaughter’s treat bag.  She’s still too young for all that candy, even though we do bring her Trick or Treating. Even if she was a little older, I would not want to give her all that candy.  So I have thought about Halloween Alternative Treats and I think I came up with some good things she’ll like without having sweets!

Toddlers Halloween Alternative Treats

  • Seasonal sippy cup, bottle, or cup with straw
  • A Story book
  • Juice pack
  • A toy
  • Favorite Snacks (Animal Crackers, Vanilla Wafers, Teddy Grahams, etc $1 containers at Walmart)
  • Maybe even some fruit chews (depending on age of child)

You don’t have to over due it for Halloween, just a little something for them to enjoy and for you to know you gave them treats without rotting their teeth! 🙂

For Trick or Treaters instead of candy, you can give out

  • raisin boxes
  • Juice boxes
  • Animal Cracker packs (small $1 for 6 at $tree)
  • Bagged pretzels (small $1 for 6 at $tree)
  • individual crackers & cheese
  • Hot cocoa mix
  • Microwave popcorn
  • Trail mix
  • Teddy-bear shaped, graham cookies
  • Crispy rice treats
  • Flavored, sugar-free bubble gum

Another alternative is to give away little toys and knickknacks. Some ideas:

  • Silly Bandz
  • Crayons
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Stickers
  • Bubbles
  • Glow-in-the-dark bracelets
  • Temporary tattoos

Which Halloween Alternative Treats are you going to give out this year?

Spread the love to your friends and family

If you liked this, you'll love these.

  1. I really enjoyed reading your post. I really agree with you. I never wanted my children’s to just sit there with a pumpkin filled of all that candy. Now that means when they got older too.

I always made a special Halloween Pumpkin (like a gift basket, but pumpkin) when they were children. i always put special things in each according to their likes of things. it always was a big hit and they loved it. I took them trick or treating just like around the neighbor where I knew everyone.
Thanks for sharing and great idea for you to do!
