Frugal Tip: How to Keep a Carved Pumpkin Fresh

How to Keep A Carved Pumpkin Fresh for Weeks

It’s fun to carve faces into pumpkins and see who can make the scariest or the funniest, but have you thought about how to keep your Carved Pumpkin Fresh until Halloween? Here’s a Frugal Tip on what to do after carving and scooping out the guts.

How to Keep Carved Pumpkin Fresh

Mix 1 tsp of Bleach with 1 Gal of Water in a large container.
Dip your pumpkin into the large container of bleach and water (1 tsp:1 gal mix).

How does this keep your carved pumpkin fresh?
The bleach will kill bacteria and help your pumpkin stay fresh longer. Once completely dry, (drain upside down), add 2 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a quart of water. Brush this solution onto your pumpkin to keep it looking fresh for weeks.

I’m a Gramma to a beautiful, funny, smart little girl who was born in July of 2014. She’s the joy of my family and I’m so very proud to be a gramma (an alternate spelling for grandma)! I am a coffee, music, movie and outdoor lover! My family and I love picnics, festivals and concerts. Spending time with my family is the best part of my life. I love my job as well!  Blogging and product reviewing has given my family and I a lot and I have also learned a lot and made a lot of friends.

About Me

Hi! I'm Sandra, a Grandma in todays Modern world. I love sharing my opinions on products, recipes and more. My granddaughter was born in 2014. She's the glue that brought both families closer and made us outdoor families. We love the outdoors, whether it's going to parks, concerts, events, etc. I would be happy to discuss working on reviews, paid sponsored post, and more. Lets talk! Mediainfo@monderndaygramma.com .
