9/11 Film

No matter who you are or where you were, that moment and the aftermath is indelibly etched in everyone’s mind. WOW! It is so hard to believe this happened 16 years ago! That day for my family and I was so normal, work and school. I worked at Macy’s in the Esplanade Mall, here in Kenner Louisiana, I just walked in the security area and heard the security lady on the phone say, maybe it was hijacked. Then the manager came running in and told her to get the TV on in the break room! It came on just in time to see the 2nd plane hit. I am getting chills writing this, just as I did when I saw that plane hit. I had tears, and couldn’t believe what I had just saw! Macy’s morning briefing, we were told it was a terrorist act; the manager told us she was trying to get authority to close the store, but we had to go about normally until then. All I wanted to do was make sure my family was OK! I called my daughter’s school (High School) and told the secretary if they let out early let her go home with her boyfriend, I was not able to go get her and no one was answering the phone at my husband’s work which is 4 blocks away from our airport! Talk about pulling hair out and getting even more nervous! Macy’s opened it’s mall doors as normal for about 2 hours. I rushed home and my daughter came in the door right after me, we hugged for what seemed like 10 minutes, but I know it was more like 5 seconds! LOL My husband’s boss finally answered the phone and we knew he was OK. It was one of the scariest days of my life!

I don’t understand all the hate in the world today or 16 years ago, we should love one another and have peace in the world! We have children who grow up scared because of all the hatred! I have a 3 year old granddaughter who is so innocent, I don’t want her to grow up and learn how to hate or know that someone hates her!

The film 9/11 is based on a true story and chronicles the lives of five average, everyday people who find themselves trapped in an elevator during the events of 9/11 in the World Trade Center.

About the Film 9/11:

9/11 opens in theaters on September 8 and features an all star cast including Luis Guzman(The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3), Gina Gershon (Showgirls), Wood Harris (Justified), Jacqueline Bisset (Dancing on the Edge (BBC), Welcome to New York), Olga Fonda (The Vampire Diaries) and Bruce Davison (X-Men).

In the World Trade Center, a billionaire sits in his attorney’s office awaiting a divorce hearing against his wife. In a west side apartment, a bike messenger kisses his 5-year old daughter and sings her “Happy Birthday” before leaving for work. A maintenance man gets dispatched to help a tenant with his lock. In an upper east side apartment, a young model musters the courage to break up with her sugar daddy. As random as random can be, these individuals step into a crowded World Trade Center elevator.

Wrapped up in their own world, they all ride silently hearing only the sound of the elevator giving notice of each floor. When the elevator stops on the 34th floor, it empties leaving only these five behind. Moments later … their world changes as the collision of a jet into the North Tower incapacitates the elevator.

With no understanding of what has happened and is happening around them, these five are forced to band together and fight against all odds to escape from the impending horrific collapse. During these critical minutes, are stories of courage, faith, and the will to live unfolds.

  1. I was driving to work when I head about what happened at the Twin Towers on the radio. When I got to work, everyone was watching the news on TV and in shock.

  2. I was pregnant with my daughter and was sick that day. Stayed home and watched the horror unfold on tv.
