I received 2 new Apothic Wines and Barefoot wine complementary in exchange for inclusion in our Holiday Gift Guide and review. Their new wines are Apothic Dark, Dark Horse Chardonnay and Barefoot Bubbly Brut Cuvée and Pink Moscato minis. Apothic Dark is a true original. Named for the mysterious place, Apotheca, where vintners stored their most coveted concoctions in 13th century Europe, Apothic blends fuse Old World intrigue with modern sophistication. Winemaker Debbie Juergenson lets the character and flavor of each varietal guide the shape of her wines. In addition to the two bold wines that started it all – Apothic Red and Apothic White – Debbie offers a selection of limited release blends. Apothic Dark and Dark Horse Chardonnay are two separate brands. Apothic Dark comes from Apothic Wines and Dark Horse Chardonnay comes from Dark Horse Wines
Both Champagnes are in my fridge, I plan on drinking them on Christmas eve with my husband. I like to celebrate the holiday in that way. Although I have tasted this champagne before, I can say it’s a very good champagne. My tag line for a blog I had a few years ago was “Champagne Wishes on a Beer Budget” and well, my husband always said I have Champagne wishes, and I do like Champagne! 😉 LOL
We tried the Dark Horse Chardonnay last Weekend. The 2012 Dark Horse Chardonnay has rich flavors of baked apple and pear, layered with toasted oak, notes of caramel and brown spice with a smooth, lingering finish. Apothic selected the ripest fruit from the Lodi, Delta and Clarksburg areas for their Chardonnay wine and they’re proud to offer it as the perfect complement to their red wines.
It was flavorful for sure, a little stronger than I usually like but my husband enjoyed it a lot! He liked the aroma and flavor. If you are interested in purchasing Apothic wines, use their store locator to see if it’s available at a store near you.
Sharing is Caring 🙂
