Hey guys, is a sponsored post, but first, I’m going to tell you a little about my granddaughter and how much she disliked her car seat and still doesn’t like her booster seat and seat belt. Along with that I will fill you in on CAR SEAT SAFETY WITH CARS.COM.
My granddaughter is only 3, however she knows what she likes and doesn’t like and has known it since the day she was born. LOL Putting her in the car seat facing the rear was a NO, NO! She screamed and cried every time. It was as if she didn’t like seeing where she had been, but the problem was she wanted to see her mommy and daddy. Finally was the time to face her forward and all the screaming stopped, so we thought!
We had a year of her not wanting to get in her car seat at all! It took bribery to get her to cooperate with us. Then this year, we got her a booster seat and she’s figured out how to undo the seat belt! So gramma has put a scare in her that if I hear she’s doing that again, I will get a lock for it (sold on Amazon) and the only people who will be able to undo it is her mommy and daddy, she listens to that, let’s us buckle her in and asks me not to do that. lol
Ok now that I got my funny story out the way, here’s why I told it to you.
Car seat safety is something that every parent, grandparent, aunt, etc should be concerned about. If you are going to have the child(ren) in the car with you, it is your concern. Car accidents are fairly common, and our children don’t know how to protect themselves from being hurt, that’s on us! Question: As a new parent, or grandparent, did you even think about car seat safety? With my granddaughter that was one of the last things we thought about.
Luckily, there are resources like Cars.com that offer information on car seats and car seats safety, you just have to know where to look. Here’s some of my favorite articles from them I thought you may find interesting. The 1st one is a must read!
Do you have 3 kids in car seats? Check out this article on Which Cars Fit 3 Car Seats.
They also offer a lot of car seat check articles, where they offer ratings on various car models in relation to how well and easy) car seats install (like this article on the 2017 Nissan Rogue my daughter and son in law own a 2010 Rogue).
Check out how Cars.com conducts car seat safety checks.
I hope you found this post helpful. Make sure you know how to properly install your car seat by reading both the manual that came with it and did you know your car manual may also have information on installing a car seat? Yep when we got our car it was in the manual! If you feel that the car seat isn’t secure enough, check to see if you have a local police and fire station that will do a free check. You can (find a location here).
Car (seat) safety is very important! So get informed, and give yourself a peace of mind knowing that you’re doing the best you can for your little love’s safety
